Getting to know us....



Qahar Aqilah got his start and training 8 years ago as an ensemble member of Rep16:21. In the intervening years, he has delved into other aspects of the theatre as well, though acting still remains as his main passion. He has conducted basic theatre workshops for secondary schools and colleges, as well as participated in many other theatre workshops by Dramalab, klpac and The Odin Teatret of Denmark to name a few.

Adel is trained at the Sri Nandhigeswarar Academy, as an Indian classical dancer and has been dancing since her school days at the Benny School of Dancing academy under Principal, Mr. Henry Chan. A graduate from the Malaysian Institute of Art, with a Diploma in Commercial Art, she started of her career in Advertising. Also graduated from Acting for Beginners by Joe Hasham, she is now teaching full time at tas academy @ klpac, where she conducts acting/mime, physical dance classes and art classes. She has worked with the Majudiri ‘Y’ Foundation For The Deaf at the YMCA, which ended up with her co directing their all-new physical theatre piece called Sounds of Silent Dreams. Her other outreach centers are the Madonna Heights, Ulu Kelang, a Home for Teenage Girls run by the Good Shepherd Sisters and the Monfort Girls Home in Shah Alam.

Christopher Ling trained in Drama and Theatre Arts at Middlesex University, London and with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. He is currently a Director-in-Residence at klpac where he also leads it's T4YP (Theatre For Young People) programme. He has directed numerous productions for klpac including TEN: Theatrical Lightning Strikes Human Relationships, The Secret Love Life of Ophelia, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Hamlet, The Swimming Instructor and Bernarda Alba. Christopher received the Anugerah Seni Negara (National Arts Awards) Young Talent Award for Theatre Directing in February 2009. 


KELVIN WONG got his first taste of theatre in 2004 from Sunway University-College’s production of Tony Kushner’s THE ILLUSION, directed by Rey Buono. Kelvin was recently a part of the SHORT+SWEET THEATRE & DANCE FESTIVAL (2009) where he directed Nandang Abdul Rahman’s Unsaid, which won the Festival Director’s Choice Award.Now a Director-in-Residence at klpac, Kelvin made his directorial debut there with MUKABUKU (2009), a project under klpac's Theatre for Young People (T4YP) wing. In addition to David Mamet's THE POET AND THE RENT (forthcoming 2010), Kelvin will also spearhead INDICINELIVE!'s 2010 season, klpac's brand-new sketch comedy premise.


Mark Beau de Silva has been writing scripts for the stage since 2001. His scripts Stories for Amah, Ah Steve, Oh My God and Bottom Top have been recognized for best writing in the Cameronian Arts Awards. He is currently working on Community Writing Projects that include the community and social issues in a collaborative writing process. Mark's scripts have been staged in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Singapore and South Korea.

Doppo Narita, belonged to the Bungakuza Theatre Company from 1995 to 1998. He came to KL and acted for " Pulau Antara" directed by Jo Kukathas in 2001. After that He went to Singapore for one year from 2002 as an overseas trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Government of Japan and studied Asian composite art including Chinease opera, Taichi, Indian dance,etc. at TTRP that was etablished by Kuo Pao Kun. He has also worked with the Liminal Theatre & Performance, Australia as an actor and researcher. Currently He is now with us at TAS.
